( what wilson wants... is to say thank you )

I am taking a few days off until the New Year to catch up with friends, so this will be my last post for 2011. I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all my blog followers and blog friends.
'What Wilson Wants' started as a private reference port for me to compile my thoughts and design inspirations. Until I started it, I had countless folders of cut-outs from magazine, unreferenced images I had saved from websites and blogs, and photos I have saved on different folders from my camera. After only a few months I was getting some lovely e-mails from people following my blog on a daily basis who were actually interested in what I was sharing, and who had very similar tastes to me... to all of you... Thank you. It is you that has made What Wilson Wants as popular as it is and ultimately made me so passionate about writing each and every post. I adore design and sharing my inspirations with all of you and am so pleased that I have such a dedicated following. Again... Thank you.
I will leave you with some of my favourite and most inspirational images from 2011. I am very much looking forward to 2012... lets get inspired!!!
Just click on the titles over each image to take you to the related post... enjoy :)

( home for Christmas )

So, Christmas is done for another year :( I hope you all had an amazing Christmas holiday with family and friends... I sure did. My Christmas was extra special this year with a new official addition to the family - my new Sister-in-law, Beccy (We love her to bits). We all had an amazing day filled with fun and so much laughter that my belly still hurts! It's my last day back up in the Midlands today before I venture back down to London in a few hours.
I will leave you with a few pics I took over Christmas - from my Mum and Dad's Christmas tree that she's so proud of (bless her), to our lovely annual Christmas woodland walk.

Prezzies :)

Festive table set for six :)

Neil playing Santa and handing out the prezzies :) Mum getting very excited :)

Dad in his Kitchen! He Loves it so much :)

Caught unexpecyed... hahaha, sorry Dad! :)

( another dreamy Christmas home )

Want want want! Forget the lovely festive house in my favourite Christmas film 'Home Alone'... Look at this for a beautiful traditional festive home. It's gorgeous! This home is lovely without the Christmas decorations... I love the flagstone flooring in the main entrance hall, the stunning timber flooring in the reception room and kitchen and the scrumptious mix of rustic, traditional and modern furniture! The earthy colours of the fabrics and soft furnishings combined with the festive decor make this wonderful home so so so inviting! Love! :)
I found this home via the very lovely blog Lark & Linen. Thank you Jacquelyn for finding this beauty.
Jacquelyn also designed this weeks pin on my title block :)

( a Christmas holiday cabin to dream about )

If you read my guest post on 'Space for Inspiration', you will know just how much I love a Christmas Cottage. As you may have realised by now, most of my posts, when it comes to Interiors, are very much gravitated towards comfortable and classic living with a slight urban / modern twist. But now and again little gems like this pop up and I just melt! My dream Christmas would be spent in a cozy little cabin with my loved ones playing games, eating Christmas dinner, laughing and drinking in-front of an open fire. I think this place is the perfect setting for all of the above. Kate Thornley-Hall's Holiday Cabin is just so pretty... I want to rent it all Winter.

( friday's palette - Christmas Robin )

Your Friday Colour Palette...
I was looking through Flickr last night and came across this beautiful image of a robin. The colours in the image are really great so, of course, I thought... That has to be my festive colour palette for this week! The colours in the Robin are so strong and healthy whilst the direst contrast in the soft pinkish background adds Christmasy warmth to the palette. Love it :) I really love the coziness of the interior I have chosen to compliment this weeks palette.
I'm very excited about this weekend as my Brother, his Wife and my good friend Stu are coming to stay for the weekend... woohoo! I have lots of festive and very exciting things lined up for them... I can't wait!
Have a great weekend :)

Thank you again Charlotta for asking me to write a post for your 'Talk to me about Christmas...' feature. Please hop across to her gorgeous blog. ( european design centre treats )

I have been a huge fan of edc (European Design Centre) for many years now. I first came across them when I worked as a designer for a company mainly designing high end hotels, where we would specify furniture from edc quite a lot. Now working for a company who only design bespoke, I haven't kept up-to-date with products edc offer.
A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to be invited to their fantastic showroom on Margaret Street, London, for our monthly blogger meeting (member of db collective)... I am now obsessed with edc again! hehehe. Whilst at the showroom, I couldn't help but fall in love with almost everything in there. Just an added note too... the staff are absolutely lovely. Thank you girls for your warm hospitality :)
'European Design Centre London is a unique retail concept, showcasing and eclectic mix of high quality contemporary and classic furniture, also complimented by a hand-picked selection of essential lifestyle accessories.' Below are just a tiny tiny example of some of my favourite pieces.

Their Aim
“We aim to provide original and high quality pieces of European, designer furniture for a fair price, to anyone and everyone in search of timeless design and quality. Challenging ourselves to create an exciting and eclectic mix of furniture, lighting, accessories and lifestyle items, to help our clients makes their home a comfortable and personal place.” (edc)

New Feature
I have also promised the gils there that I would mention their fantastic new showroom feature - 'The Decorators Hub'. 'The European Design Centre have created a space for decorators, architects & designers (and people with a love of design), this space has been designed for off site meetings and research. We have provided a large meeting area with a huge selection of catalogues, samples and fabrics for the brands that we deal with, along with access to our wi-fi. This space can be booked in advance and is also free of charge with a no obligation to buy policy. Members of our team are on hand for any queries you may have or advice you may need. This place is ideal for designers not based in London or with limited space and provides a comfortable relaxed environment to work in.'
